College of Information Engineering offers the following teaching departments: computer science and technology, electronic information engineering, telecommunications engineering, and microelectronics; five undergraduate course specialties: computer science & technology, electronic information engineering, telecommunications engineering, microelectronics and digital media art; four master degree awarding points in computer applied technology, signal and information processing, Computer software and circuit and system and theory, The total number of full-time students is nearly 2500. The college always attached great importance to the training of its students in their creative abilities, self-study abilities of having hands-on experience, good study habits and good style of training; as a result, there are dozens of graduates who were accepted by famous universities nationwide.
The college also has the following four Lab Center: Lab Center of Electronic, Lab Center of Computer Networks, Lab Center of Telecommunications and Lab Center of Microelectronics; one Computer Applications Institute, the Lab Centers have the advanced laboratory equipment and capability to carry out the large-scale experiments and comprehensive test. The college also has a Key Discipline of Beijing, one Training Base which was in order to bring up personnel for capital, two Brand Construction Departments of Beijing. The college made great effort to catty out research activities, undertook several national vertical and horizontal issues like national Natural Science Foundation in recent year, and acquired many significant achievements in fuzzy control, integrated circuit design, computer application, green power, signal processing, awarded the State Scientific and Technological Progress Price and Province and Ministerial-level Scientific and Technological Progress Prize for many times.
The college also has given great importance to international exchanges and cooperation and academic exchanges, has launched a joint schools and established good relations of cooperation with universities of Britain, Germany, Japan, United States.
Computer Science and Technology
This program includes the following three courses: Computer Software Theory, Computer network and Database, and Multimedia Information Technology, and aims to train high-level professionals of engineering, who will be able to engage in design and implementation of computer hardware, in design, development, maintenance of computer software systems, and in design, management and maintenance of computer networks. Students of this major are required to systematically learn the basic theory and other specialized knowledge of computer science, and receive multiple training in computer engineering practice.
Electronic Information Engineering
This program aims to train high-level professionals of engineering with systematic fundamental theoretical and practical knowledge of electronics, information technology, communication technology and relevant computer application technology, who will be able to engage in research and development, design and application of a wide variety of electronic equipment and information systems in the electronic information industry and other technical departments. Integrating electronics and information engineering and characterized by wide caliber, this program places emphasis on training students’ basic theory and professional and kills, and on improving their overall qualities, especially, on cultivating their creative ability.
This program comprises the following two courses: Wireless Communication and Multimedia Communication, and the aim is to train high-level professionals of engineering with a solid theoretical foundation and basic knowledge of modern communication systems, communication networks, and computer tools, who will be able to engage in design, research & development, manufacture and operation of networks in wireless communication, multimedia communication and other relevant technical fields.
Composed of SLSI (Super Large-Scale Integration) Design and SLSI Testing, this program aims to train high-level application-oriented professionals with basic theory of microelectronics and practical techniques and skills, and a good mastery of techniques of design of electronic circuits and computer applications, who will be able to adapt themselves to the needs of scientific and technological development and market economy in the 21century,and engage in manufacture, design, and testing of integrated circuits, and in system integration in the technical field of microelectronics.
